Contains minutes of 77 Board and Special meetings. The Board meeting for 24 October 1900 continues into book 2. Issues covered regularly include; minutes of the previous board meeting, the allotment of shares, subsequent divisions and calls to shareholders, financial statements, cheques and accounts paid, accounts payable, documents and share certificates sealed, appointments of directors & officers, and engineers, and parliamentary matters. The minutes often include a full record of report(s) or letters(s) discussed - the indexing shows where this occurs. The engineers' reports provide detailed descriptions of construction of all aspects of the railway from the start to its opening on 30 July 1900. The Board of Trade Certification (ref 75) details all aspects of the completed railway including its construction, signalling and an electrical safety report. After the opening of the railway, the General Managers report starts outlining some of the issues that will be followed up in Book 2. Special issues include; death of J H Greathead and Sir J Fowler - the railway’s engineers, alleged damage to property including the Bank of England, disputes with land owners and discussions with the Corporation of London on construction issues.

Issues covered regularly include minutes of the previous board meeting, debenture allotment and dividends, financial statements, cheques and accounts paid, accounts payable, documents and share certificates sealed, appointments of Directors & officers, engineers etc and parliamentary matters, contract with the Electric Traction Company ends with a final settlement. The Minutes often include a full record of report(s) or letters(s) discussed - the indexing shows where this occurs. The General Managers report regularly provides a review of receipts, expenses and passenger numbers; the index lists other topics covered at each of these meetings. Special issues include; vibration, adoption of multiple unit system, superstructures over stations, subsoil easement related claims, improvements to Shepherds Bush Power House, new offices at Oxford Circus, odour at stations and tunnel ventilation, fire precautions following the Paris Metro fire, Royal Commission on Traffic, accidents to employees and passengers, passenger link tunnels with other railways, purchase of motor (road) car, seat vacuum cleaner and meetings with Yerkes.
